
The true story of Noor Inayat Khan ('Madeleine'), the daughter of a American woman and an Indian mystic, she was born in Russia and brought up in France. In 1940 she came to England, joined the WAAF and volunteered to return to France as a radio operator. She was dropped in 1943 and worked for four months until she was betrayed. She was interrogated daily by the Gestapo and was eventually taken to Dachau where she was shot. She was posthumously awarded the George Cross and the Croix de Guerre.
